Question: How did NCR start conducting gutter protection reviews?

Answer:

Over three years ago our Editor-in-Chief was searching for a gutter protection product for his home. After inviting some of the most heard of gutter protection companies to his home, he oddly discovered that each one has the same, high pressure pitch: “Our Product is The Absolute Best, sign on the dotted line”. The products were principally different in construction and function – so how can one be better than the other and how can every single company claim that they are the “Absolute Best”? – He smelled something fishy and called on the full resources of NCR to do the investigative report.

Question: How do we make money?

Answer:

Our business model differs from traditional media outlets, our motto is to create great content that people actually benefit from, make it better and if the readers benefit from it – hopefully they have the goodwill to support us. So far we have been able to stay afloat – your support is much appreciated. You can make a contribution by going to the support us page. One other way we generate revenue to continue reviewing products is application fees from prospective verified dealers.

Question: Why do you not run traditional Ads on gutterprotectionreview.org?

Answer:

Although we have implemented Google ads (automatically generated from Google’s ad network) on our pages in the past; we have found that many of the ads can have a deceitful nature to them – out of respect of our readers we have pledged not to use adds on the main pages of NCR as that can potentially misinform readers and not add value to our content.

I have 500 feet of gutter, most on very steeply pitched roofs, some as much as 14 – 12. I have pine needles…not leaves, as a problem. Moved in the house in October and have had one cleaning and in need of another. My roofer offered a plastic guard ( no name brand ) that goes under the shingle edge and clips on the front of the gutter. It has a rounded edge that leads to a slot behind the rounded area for rain…sorry for the poor description. He has a ‘ 10 Year No Clog Warranty ‘. I’m worried about rain water running right off rather than following the curve as well as the pine needle no-clog warranty. Any experience?

I am interested in your fine mesh gutter guard system, but my question to you is do they work also on pine needles? My yard is full of pine trees and just a hand full of broad leaf trees. Also, do they allow normal to heavier rains to penetrate the mesh and go into the gutters, or does the rain just roll off the screen and fall close to the foundation of my home.
    Thank you, Ron

Have you tested or ever heard of “Clean Sweep Gutter Protection System” and how would you rate it? Thanks.

      @Dave,

This system is very similar to the Leaf Relief and RainDrop systems, they did not fair well in our testing, however if we get contacted by the manufacturer for a review, well certainty let you know how it preformed.

I was wondering if you are familiar with a product called Rhino Gutter Guard
    http://www.rhinogutterguard.com/

    They have 3 products.
I am interested in their BEST product.
Do you plan on testing this product, or do you have an opinion on it at this time?

      Dan,

Rhino Gutter Guard seems to be a close imitation of Guttergloves’ LeafBlaster product. I would not expect for the functionality of Rhino Gutter Guard to be much different.

Did you test Gutter Cap? This one is promoted as a great one.

      Karen,

Although we have not tested Gutter Cap it is very similar to the cover made by LeafGuard , K-Guard and The Original GutterGuard

The reverse curve types of gutter covers do not work very well from our testing.
