Overall Rating:
These are usually vinyl plastic, with a reverse-curve and usually one or two slots along their 3-4 foot length. The rainwater slips around the curve, and is directed into the recessed slots, and drops into the gutter. (approx $1.25 to $2.00/ft).

Jim – there are well over 2,000 various products that are available for “protecting” gutters. although we are expanding our reviews we cannot get every single one.

We installed these ‘Slithole’ gutter covers. They were fairly easy to install. But they are worthless. The slits fill with debris. We had to remove/clean them after the first year. A waste of time and money.

Jim,
I Don’t work for NCR but i read your comment went to take a look at your site took me all of 15 sec to discover that stuff dont work EZ gutter protection that is if you have something better please let me know. The product pictured on your website will let pine needles get all stuck in that system Shingle grit will clog up the gutter and not let it drain properly. I mean you cant Honestly say this will help much unless you only have huge oak leaves. So to come on a thread and claim them to be unbais sometimes you dont have to spend much time with a product to know it wont work. You can buy the same type of product at lowes real cheap. But as the old saying goes If a product don’t do what reguardless what you paid for it you’ve paid to much. I personally don’t think you are even close to being in the same ball Game.

I’m not so sure you’re hitting the mark with these ratings. I did not see any testing as it relates to northern climates. What I would be looking for is whether or not freezing temperatures affect clogging of a mesh or micro mesh. Most of the metal products you rated highly seem to be good products, but I’m not confident that they’re going to perform in cold weather climates like Wisconsin (where I’m from).
I’m actually a fan of the gutterdome product when it has the heater coil installed in it so it does not freeze up in cold weather conditions but absent that testing, I still have some reservations. If it doesn’t have it, I think there might be some issues with ice load buildup that a non-metal slotted product might solve if it was heavy duty enough.
The impact testing seemed a little frivolous. I really don’t see the point. It’s the same with showing the prices per foot. Any professional will tell you that there are other factors that affect price than a simple per foot calculation.
