Protecting Your Gutters

Posted by:

When a homeowner protects, covers or “guards” their gutters, the job of cleaning one’s gutters decreases and the life of the home is increased. If an inferior or “cheap” option for protecting the gutters is chosen by the homeowner, then old adage of you get what you pay for comes into play. The cheap, quick options chosen by many homeowners satisfies the initial immediate problem of protecting the gutters from debris and allows the homeowner to not having to clean them out. However, this usually lasts for a relatively short period of time (about 2-3 years) before the gutters need cleaning.

The objective of gutter protection is to keep debris out of a gutter. When a so-called gutter protection system still allows debris to find its’ way into the gutter, it then becomes a nuisance and frustration mounts with the homeowner. On the other hand, when a gutter protection system performs the way both the supplier and the homeowner agree that it will function, the homeowner is very satisfied by the simple fact that they know the gutters are clear and operating as they should.
